Leigh Hobbs visits LPS!!!

What a wonderful time we had working with Leigh Hobbs on Wednesday morning in the Community Centre! We looked at some of Leigh’s illustrations and then some of the books that they appear in. Leigh then asked us to have a go at drawing our own versions of Old Tom, the crazy, naughty cat, Mr Chicken and Horrible Harriet. We found out how easy it was to create our own illustrations following Leigh’s instructions. It was a fantastic experience for us all!

Thank you to Mrs Keogh for organising this incursion and bringing such a well- known and much loved author / illustrator to our school.

Have a look at some of our illustrations –

Reminders

  • Swimming starts this MONDAY! Don’t forget to come prepared (wear your bathers under your school uniform, bring a smaller bag with your swimming things in it & don’t forget to take your swimming bag home each day so they are ready for the next lesson)
  • Notices have been sent home for parent helpers – those selected will assist on the bus, or at the pool and/or both duties. Please see your classroom teacher ASAP if you cannot assist on your selected day.
  • Book week is this Friday! Come along dressed up as something from a book – remember to bring along a gold coin donation for the ‘Make-A-Wish’ foundation.

Many thanks,
